Here’s what’s new on Crazy Egg this month. Existing users can login to see product updates in real time.

Website Heatmaps update: no limit on number of Snapshots per page

You can now create new Heatmap Snapshots for each page variant of an A/B Test, even when you’re running multiple A/B tests on the same page.

A/B Testing gives marketers a critical tool to understand how redesigning a webpage impacts visitor behavior on that page, by directing visitors onto both variants of that page and measuring how their performance differs.

This update helps you drill further into the impact of those A/B Tests, by taking advantage of Crazy Egg’s heatmap capabilities to show you what’s happening side-by-side.

We work hard to ensure Crazy Egg users squeeze the most value out of their website traffic. This update gives you even more detail on how your A/B Test pages are performing, at no extra cost — you only pay for the pages you actually track.

New to Conversion Goals: assign a monetary value to your Goals

You can now optionally assign a specific currency value to your Conversion Goals, and measure the aggregate value of your conversions in all Crazy Egg reporting.

Conversion Goals on Crazy Egg help marketers to measure the business outcomes generated by visitor activity on their websites, in addition to traditional traffic metrics. Users can trigger a variety of key conversion events: when a visitor clicks a certain page element, lands on a certain page, submits a form, triggers an ad conversion pixel, or triggers a custom script.

This update helps to quantify each conversion’s unique value, and more accurately measure the total ROI driven by website visitors.

You can specify each conversion’s value by:

  • Setting a fixed value — Type in a specific currency value for the Conversion Goal. Choose if this conversion is always worth the same, no matter which page it occurs on.
  • Setting by page element — Assign conversion values to specific page elements on individual pages (or their variants), no coding required. Choose if this conversion’s value is dynamic, especially between variants of an A/B test.
  • Setting by code — Before the Conversion Goal is triggered, embed a Crazy Egg code snippet on the page, specifying the custom value of that Goal. Choose when you need ultimate flexibility and control over conversion measurement, in partnership with a developer.

Surveys update: personalize Surveys and Calls-to-Action (CTAs) with custom Site Colors

Crazy Egg’s Surveys and Calls-to-Action (CTAs) enable you to deploy personalized messages to visitors on your site — either to gather qualitative feedback, or drive them to key offers or conversion goals.

This personalization includes tailoring the colors for Surveys and CTAs based on your unique brand style, ensuring a completely white-labeled user experience.

With this update, you can now save your default branded Site Colors within Crazy Egg, and edit your selected brand colors later.

Now you don’t have to re-choose the same Site Colors every time you create a new Survey or CTA, helping you save time and maintain brand consistency.
